The Opportunity 

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for driving and delivering procurement best practice in line with G8’s business objectives and goals. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the role will focus on strategic sourcing activity across a range of indirect spend categories.

This is a management and enablement role, requiring significant interaction with internal business stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver high profile, complex procurement activities in a fast-paced environment. 

The role is Full-Time on a 6month contract. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading on high value, high risk strategic sourcing initiatives from data analysis and insights, through to end-to-end tendering and contract execution
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across G8 to identify commercial risks, efficiency opportunities and provide expert technical procurement advice in order to maximise savings opportunities and minimise commercial exposure
  • Develop full understanding of the cost base using spend analytics tools, including whole life/total cost of ownership, accurate baselining and benefits realisation
  • Work closely with our in-house legal team to ensure contractual risks are mitigated and ensure G8 supplier agreements are robust, and fulfil the needs of the business
  • Support the Head of Procurement to develop the procurement strategy and relevance governance measures to reduce risk and standardise procurement processes
  • Leverage existing P2P technology to drive control and efficiency across the extensive network of early education centres
  • Support with the creation, development and delivery of a business wide contract management framework to drive supplier performance and mitigate risk
  • Proactively raise the profile of the Procurement Team through intensive engagement with the business supporting objectives and embeding best practice procurement at G8.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to drive change and continuous improvement in the management of our key suppliers

About You 

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role 
  • Previous relevant experience of strategic sourcing and contract management across a range of categories   
  • Experience of analysing large data sets, drawing relevant insights and presenting to Executive level
  • Experience of working autonomously in an agile, fast paced team
  • Ability to manage benefits, forecasting and financial planning
  • Hold a valid working with children check or willingness to obtain upon commencement.
