We are looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Buggles Brookfield Centre to produce high quality, nutritious meals and snacks for our children each day. 

This role is Part-Time working 10 hours per week, Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am-1:00pm.

About Us

Buggles Brookfield Child care and Kindergarten centre is conveniently located for families looking for long day care or Kindergarten in Central Perth, Northbridge, West Perth, Highgate, Mount Lawley, East Perth and West Leederville. Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources, and a range of activities.

Our menus meet nutritional guidelines and are high-quality, allowing young bodies to thrive both mentally and physically. As part of the team, you will feel appreciated, valued and enjoy a truly supportive and fun work environment. 

At capacity our centre caters for up to 68 children with operating hours from 6.30am to 6.30pm.

Our location is accessible to public transport via Elizabeth Quay or Perth Underground. We are in the heart of Perth Cioty which is close to the City Library, food courts and Cafes.

Your role

• Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that are healthy, varied, and appealing to young children
• Ensure all food is stored, handled, and served safely, following all relevant food safety regulations
• Ensure menus meet the dietary needs of the children, including any allergies or cultural requirements
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen, including managing food and equipment inventory
• Collaborate with our Educators to support the overall health and well-being of the children

Our Requirements

• Demonstrated experience cooking in a licensed childcare centre or similar setting
• Knowledge of child nutrition and food safety regulations
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
